The Love
River has a beautiful reputation as the center
of Kaohsiung, the shinny stream reflects the
green riverbank, and no matter what the season
you will find it to be a beautiful attraction.
Viewing marine dock, bike path, water friendly
stairs, fountain and waterfall, observing balcony, garden walking-path, and modeling
recreation square etc., all these reveal a
wonderful area to enjoy and relax.
The Love River has been an emotional inspiration
to the city for hundreds of years, It displays
various features in different seasons and offers
a different atmosphere during the day than at
night. The shaded park along the river is a
favorite location for Kaohsiung’s residents to
rest and relax.
【Love River Coffee and Arts Area】
From Wufu bridge to Chungcheng bridge, you can
leisurely enjoy coffee and tea. Besides, the
annual lantern festival is held along Love
River. The culture and geography of Love River
always attract every tourist. Besides, you can
take famous Love Boat here and appreciate the
beautiful view along Love River. Each sailing
takes around 20 minutes.
Along the banks a number of parks and buildings
have been established such as the Arts Special
Zone, Kaohsiung Film Archives, Kaohsiung
Municipal History Museum, Kaohsiung Business
Exhibition Center, Kaohsiung Hakka Culture
Museum. The left bank is the space of arts and
humanities according to the plan, and the right
is planned to become a space of leisure and
catering.

True Love
Ferry Pier |

Its was formerly the military No.12 dock, now
integrates the artistic designs of flowers and
plants, and a mega canvas, in accordance with
the seafront park, green planting, viewing
overpass, and the visitors service center,
together they build up a premium family-friendly
water recreation park that allows you to listen
to the waves and embrace the stunning views; on
the other side of the pier is the old
storehouse, which presents strong historical
memories, the new and old architectures here,
have found their new balances and integrations,
together they create a new urban esthetic.
It is a new scenery for seashore enjoyment. Visitors can take
a tour ship to land on Cijin port, and take the
shuttle bus, the "Sunshine Avenue Bus" to visit
Cijin area and then back to Cijin port, or can
take a ferry from the Cijin ferry station to
Drum mountain ferry station, then take the
Seashore bus back to Pier of True Love. (service
suspended on Mondays)

commodities can be seen here, and it is also a
well known place for singer to meet their fans.
City Light Gallery, on the opposite side of the road, is a

Consulate is located on the mountainside. The

across between Cijin and Drum Mountain. Lights

Chichin
Island |

Cijin Peninsula lies in the southwest of
Kaohsiung city, is the only island in Kaohsiung.
Chichin Island is a long, narrow island, which you can access
via a ferry or drive thru the Cross-Harbor
Tunnel, their different sceneries have their own
special features. Even though it’s small in
size, Chichin Island has lots of spellbinding
attractions. With a great prosperity, the Tienhou Temple with more than 300 years of

Shou Mountain

Shou Mountain Scenic Spot which was also called
the Chai Mountain, Won Shou Mountain, Dog
Beating or Drum Beating Mountain, and Shou
Mountain or Chai Mountain is the most popular
name. There are several Ascending points to the
Mountain such as Yuanting Temple, Zoo Box
Office, west parking plot of Drum Mountain High
school, and the Dragon Emperor Temple etc., the
trails all connected. There is a beautiful
forest in Shou Mountain, which is a garden for
the city. Also here live the very precious and
rare animals. It is the Nature Preservation Area
for Taiwanese Macaques.
Shou Mountain zoo is on the hillside of the Mountain,
covering more than 50 hectares, protecting and
feeding many rare mammalian animals, reptiles
and birds, including the black bears and les-ser
pandas.
Shou Mountain is a treasury of abounding natural
resources, according to the research, the park is known to
be home to 769 types of plants, 64 types of
birds, 9 types of mammals, and 21 types of
reptiles, also countless insects and other
animals.
Being among all this you can listen to the
gentle breeze and birds singing, breathe in the
surrounding dense grass aroma and feel the
vitality of the natural world.

Lotus Pond |

Lotus Pond, a clear artificial lake, is situated
between Turtle Mountain and its north connecting
to Panpingshan (Mt.), . There are willows
planted along the pond, and pavilions standing
on the lake. Confucius Temple is located on the
north bank of Lotus Pond, and it was built
according to the styles of Confucious Temple at
Qufu (Confucious’ hometown) and the Hall of
Supreme Harmony.
Spring and Autumn Pavilions, located on the south bank of Lotus
Pond, includes Spring Pavilion and Autumn
Pavilion, and both are 4-story octagonal
pavilions. the lake is approximately 42 hectares. Within
500 meters of Lotus Lake’s west bank you will
see more than 20 temples, they are respectively
the Confucius Temple, Northern High Heavenly Xuan God (Xuan Wu), CiMing Temple, Spring and
Autumn Pavilions, WuLi Pavilion, and the Dragon
and Tiger Pagodas etc.
The architecture styles of each temple, whether the stone
carving, clay sculpture, copper cast, painting,
cutting out, decoration, paint etc., these all
reveal the folk custom of the southern Fukien
system and local Taiwan, together developing the
well-known tourism attractions of temples, and
the artistic value of these temples that are
very worthy for you to carefully appreciate.

This new Museum of Fine Arts is located in the Neiweipi Cultural Park of Gushan District, the
outdoor Sculpture Garden spires the various
styles of sculptures, besides the permanent
display of the masters’ calligraphies and
pieces, each of the floors has exhibiting rooms,
and holds the inter-national contemporary
artworks exhibition regularly, several
exhibitions of the masters’ pieces were making a
great hit, and attracted tens of thousands of

Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. The museum with an area of 40
hectare is situated in the Neiweipi Culture
Park.
Pubic facilities like museum of fine arts,
artificial lake, sculpture park, ecological
park, museum of fine arts for kids are planned
in order to fulfill the diversified needs of
different people. With the aim of being “The
Museum of Taiwanese Fine Arts History” and with
a large collection of significant fine arts

The museum is the largest educational
institution in southern Taiwan. There are 18
exhibition halls divided into four groups:
Scientific History, Information and Energy,
Technology, and Commodities & Machinery.
It occupies a base area of 19 hectares. Exhibits focus on the
historical, current and future development of
technology as they relate to the industry and
economic development of Taiwan. The museum
comprises several permanent galleries, library
and three temporary galleries as well as the
IMAX 3D theater. Exhibitions of the NSTM can be
divided into permanent exhibitions and temporary
exhibitions. For permanent exhibitions, the NSTM
has different theme exhibition halls displaying
the development and application of science and
technology as well as the Chinese achievement in

interactive, hoping to educate the public with
hands-on experiences. The NSTM works to
